Mae Whitman, Voice of Katara, Thinks She’ll Voice Act for The Legend of Korra

Mae Whitman, the voice actress of Katara from The Last Airbender, recently stated in an interview that she expects to eventually begin voice acting for another character involved in The Legend of Korra.

This answer was formed when Whitman was asked, “Is there any possibility that you might come back to record for The Legend of Korra at some point, too?

Mae’s exact answer is as followed:

Who will be Bolin’s Love Interest in Book 2 of The Legend of Korra?

One scene from The Legend of Korra that I’m sure we all remember is the moment when Bolin broke into tears once he saw that Korra was more interested in Mako. You really couldn’t help but laugh in the beginning, but feel sorry for the character in the end. It was extremely bitter-sweet.

Fortunately for all of the Bolin’s lovers, Mike and Bryan won’t leave the humorous character single for much of Book 2. We’ve already been told that Bolin will indeed have some sort of love interest in Book 2, but we just don’t know who it is.

One commentator on this site, by the name of Jason, had a pretty interesting theory on who this potential “love interest” will be, and I thought it was good enough to share it with the fandom.

M. Night Shyamalan Could Start Working on The Last Airbender 2 in 2013

If you follow M. Night Shyamalan on Twitter (you probably don’t) you most likely saw him tweet about his potential upcoming movies. What you probably didn’t notice is that one of his potential upcoming movies is The Last Airbender 2.

Unless you have yet to see The Last Airbender (don’t see it), you’d know that Shyamalan’s vision of the Avatar World isn’t too far from delusional. The guy can make movies: 6th Sense and Unbreakable are two of my favorite movies. But currently, Shyamalan just can’t seem to work his magic in this decade. It’s gotten so bad, in fact, that many believed that The Last Airbender would be the final tip-off most Studios would need to ensure that Shyamalan doesn’t direct another movie again.

Obviously the Studios still haven’t gotten the hint since Shyamalan has another movie, entitled After Earth, that’s due on June 7th 2013. And after that, well, we have reason to believe that he’ll start working on The Last Airbender 2.

Will the Death of Bolin and Mako’s Parents be Talked About in Book 2 of The Legend of Korra?

Towards the beginning of Book 1 of The Legend of Korra, we were informed that Mako and Bolin had lost their parents to a firebending mugger at very young ages. But after this was mentioned, it was never really touched upon again throughout the course of Book 1. Mike and Bryan kind of set that story to the side and continued with the main focus: the Equalist Regime. But I can understand why they chose not to talk about the death of Mako and Bolin’s parent in Book 1. Fitting so many dynamic storylines in 12 episodes is a nearly impossible task. But either way, this is still no excuses to completely scrap the idea all together.

At some point in the series, I expect Mike and Bryan to at least revisit the death again. In reality, it’s actually an extremely important scene in the series as a whole, and by not revisiting it, Mike and Bryan could severally delay the character development of Mako and Bolin. But I have faith in Mike and Bryan to talk about the death at some point. In fact, I’m expecting a flashback of the death sometime during the course of Book 2.

Legend of Korra Book 2 Release Date Evidence Roundup

20120917-223040.jpg

It’s already been reiterated many, many times that April will be a huge month for The Legend of Korra. But how can it not be? Almost every time Book 2 has been mentioned, April 2013 is usually always alluded to in some way. This alone has led many to believe that April 2013 will likely be the release month of book 2.

But April wasn’t just some random month drawn out of thin air. The reality is that there is actually a significant amount of evidence that backs up the theory of Book 2 airing in April. I’ve posted about most of that evidence in blog posts throughout the last few months or so, but some details have definitely slipped under the radar.

In order to recap all the evidence we’ve been presented with, as well as cover some minor details I have missed, I created a commentary video that I think you might be interested in watching. I don’t usually deliver news on this blog in video format, but I thought it would be a nice way to deliver this recap specifically.

You can watch the video below:

I encourage all of you to subscribe to my channel and check out my commentary-based videos whenever you get the chance. They’re kind of like an extension of my speculations involving Book 2, so if you like those kinds of things definitely check it out.

I look forward to seeing all of your comments on my videos shortly, and don’t forget to “Like” them of you enjoyed them.

Character Development of Asami Sato in Book 2 of The Legend of Korra [Update]

When Book 2 finally roles around, the character I expect to be the most developed is undoubtedly Asami Sato. Asami’s role in Book 1 was mainly focused around the whole aspect of shipping: she was with Mako in the beginning, and then dumped for Korra in the end. Asami just seemed like the character that could take the hits, but never deliver the blows. But that was Asami then. The Asami that we’ll see in Book 2 will be much different.

If you think back to Asami’s character in the beginning of the series, you’ll remember an average girl who just happened to be filthy rich since her father, Hiroshi Sato, developed the Satomobile. She lost her mother by the hands of the Agni Kai Triad, but her quality of life still seemed rather fine – for the most part.

Unfortunately for Asami, her life will never be the same after the events of Book 1. According to Mike and Bryan, she’ll face even more hardship and responsibility at the beginning of Book 2. Luckily for us, hardship almost always means character development.

Did David Faustino Cover up Book 2 of The Legend of Korra’s Release Month?

If you’ve been following the Twitter mayhem that I’ve gotten myself into (follow me) then you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you don’t, then that’s OK too. I’ll give you a brief rundown of what’s been going on:

It all started when a Twitter User asked David Faustino (voice actor of Mako) when Book 2 of The Legend of Korra would come out. He responded by basically saying Book 2 would come out in April. After reading this, my first instinct was to break the news to my followers, so that’s exactly what I did.

Little did I know that I’d actually get a response from David Faustino the next day telling me that he didn’t actually confirm Book 2’s release month to be April. He explained that he was simply predicting that Book 2 would come out in April. At first I genuinely believed him. But after thinking it over, I realized that I think he may be lying.

Book 2 of The Legend of Korra Most Likely to Release During April 2013 [Update]

Update: Post has been updated at the bottom. David Faustino tweeted me some more information.

It looks like the release month for Book 2 of The Legend of Korra is all but confirmed. Earlier today, David Faustino, the voice actor of Mako, tweeted that he expects Book 2 of The Legend of Korra to air sometime April 2013.

No one from Nickelodeon has officially come out to say that Book 2 will air during April 2013, but based on all the hints alluding to that month thus far, I think it’s safe to say that the release month is set. More on all those hints after the actual tweet:
