Alyson Stoner to Voice a Character named Opal in Book 2 of The Legend of Korra

Alyson Stoner, most famous for her past roles on Disney Channel, recently confirmed that she’ll be playing the voice of a character named Opal in Book 2 of The Legend of Korra.

This confirmation comes from her official website in which she announced all the roles that she will be taking part in during the 2013 year. The third line of her list reads “Voicing “Opal” in Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra”.

Now this line can be interpreted in one of two ways: either Alyson will begin voicing Opal’s character in 2013 for Book 3, or she has already voiced Opal’s character for Book 2 and we’ll get to see it when it airs sometime this year. It’s a bit unclear, so I expect to see different interpretations from fans around the web. Obviously I’m interpreting this quote as the latter of the two ways, but I think I may have some evidence that proves my interpretation to be correct.

Grey Delisle Reveals Information About her Character in Book 3 of The Legend of Korra

In a recent interview with Ever Free Radio, Grey Delisle revealed information about the character she is currently voice acting for Book 3 of The Legend of Korra. Grey made a conscious effort to ensure that she didn’t reveal too many important details about her character, but she did let a few minor details slide.

Right off the bat, Grey informed us that she has yet to see what her character actually looks like. But that can sort of be expected; after all, the crew is currently in the recording process. Animation and art work don’t necessarily come into play for the voice actors yet.

After that, Grey talked a little bit about her role in Book 3 of The Legend of Korra and said the following about her character:

Two New Legend of Korra Designer Jobs Available

With The Legend of Korra scheduled for a total of 4 Books so far, Mike and Bryan reportedly plan on expanding the current staff. Under the Viacom Career Page, two new Legend of Korra jobs popped up a few days ago and they’re still up for grabs. Currently, Mike and Bryan are looking to add a Character Designer and a Background Designer to the team. If you want to apply, be sure to check out the official page with the job listings.

But before you apply, you may want to make sure you’re qualified.

You can check out the qualifications and applications for the Background Designer Position here, and the Character Designer Position here.

My only guess is that Mike and Bryan probably just need some extra help with the aesthetics of Book 2. I don’t think that these positions were hired for any kind of Book 3 or Book 4 work, but anything is possible.

We shall see.

Amon’s Identity was Actually Confirmed in January

The season finale of The Legend of Korra aired this passed weekend and it certainly exceeded my expectations. We did not cover the final two episodes as much as we hoped, since I was out of state this past weekend with no computer access, but pre-episode coverage does not matter too much in my opinion. In the end, it doesn’t matter how many write-ups you read or trailers you watch: It’s the final product that matters. But that was the past, and right now we have a few things ahead of us. One of them being a real head smacker: Amon’s identity was actually revealed in January, and we knew about it.
