In a recent interview with Ever Free Radio, Grey Delisle revealed information about the character she is currently voice acting for Book 3 of The Legend of Korra. Grey made a conscious effort to ensure that she didn’t reveal too many important details about her character, but she did let a few minor details slide.
Right off the bat, Grey informed us that she has yet to see what her character actually looks like. But that can sort of be expected; after all, the crew is currently in the recording process. Animation and art work don’t necessarily come into play for the voice actors yet.
After that, Grey talked a little bit about her role in Book 3 of The Legend of Korra and said the following about her character:

The voice actors of The Legend of Korra are currently hard at work in the Nickelodeon studios recording voice work for Book 3 of The Legend of Korra. Rumors regarding Book 3’s voice work started off back in October when Seychelle Gabriel tweeted that she was reading the first script for Book 3 of The Legend of Korra. Voice work was pretty much confirmed soon after when Legend of Korra voice actors/actresses used Twitter to state that Book 3 recording had indeed begun.
Now that winter is in the air and November is amongst us, we are officially another month closer to the premiere of Book 2 and another month into Book 3’s recordings. In fact, Grey Delisle was just at the Nickelodeon studios yesterday recording voice work for her new character.

The biggest knock I have on The Legend of Korra so far is the fact that Books 1 and 2 are not connected. For some reason, Nickelodeon Studios decided to green-light 12 episodes of The Legend of Korra, then order 14 more episodes after the first Book proved to be successful. This forced Mike and Bryan to develop the Books separately, causing each one to essentially be stand-alone.
Book 1 of The Legend of Korra covered the story of the Anti-Bending Revolution, while Book 2 is expected to cover an unspecified plot dealing with Spirits.
If Nickelodeon Executives allowed Mike and Bryan to work with 2 Books in the first place (like they should have), Books 1 and 2 would’ve most likely been connected. This would have made Book 1 feel less crammed since many of its plot elements would have been carried over into the next Book.
But even though Nickelodeon undoubtedly made a big mistake by ordering these Books separately, they seemed to have redeemed themselves when they ordered Book 3 and 4 together.

Grey DeLisle used Twitter last night to confirm that she’ll be responsible for the voice of a new character in the The Legend of Korra. She also confirmed that she’ll start recording later this week.
Because voice work will start later this week for this character, we can only assume that the character will make its debut in Book 3 since Book 3 recording has effectively been confirmed.
The tweet that Grey tweeted hasn’t been deleted (yet), but here’s a screen shot of it, anyways:

When Seychelle Gabriel tweeted that she was reading the first script of Book 3 of The Legend of Korra, I hadn’t really looked at all the possibilities. I assumed that since the first script had been completed, revisions would be the next step in the process. But the term “first script” can mean many different things.
“First script” can also refer to the first episode of Book 3 since it would technically be the first script involving Book 3. And if you look at it from a voice actor’s point of view, there are only a few reasons why one would get a copy of the script at all: to ready themselves for a recording session.
Because Seychelle Gabriel has already received a copy of the script, I think it’s safe to bet that the voice recording for Book 3 has started. And just to pile on more evidence, I should mention that Janet Varney (Korra), P.J. Byrne (Bolin) and David Faustino (Mako) utilized Twitter last night to hint at this possibility as well. Their feed was rather comedic:

Seychelle Gabriel, the voice actress of Asami, tried to be sneaky on Twitter a few days ago. Sometime within the last 48 hours, she tweeted that she was reading the first script of Book 3 of The Legend of Korra and that she’s loving Tenzin’s character.
The best part about this tweet, however, is that it’s been deleted. Unfortunately for Seychelle, the internet allows us to preserve data that has seemingly been deleted. I was able to obtain a screen shot of the tweet before it was deleted, thanks to my Twitter followers.
A screen shot of the full tweet can be seen below:

A few days ago, we reported that 26 more episodes of The Legend of Korra were ordered. The big question at the time was how these 26 episodes were going to be divided: Would they all be devoted to one book, or would they be split up into two books?
Bryan Konietzko cleared it up for us on his Tumblr yesterday by explaining that the 26 additional episodes would be broken up into Book 3 and Book 4, each containing 13 episodes. Here is the breakdown directly from Tumblr:
